I voted for the Casinos, and I will be damned if they are going to change the location from where it was voted on originally.

The downtown location is the proper spot for it, Lodging, Lodging, Lodging.
    Goes with Location, Location, Location

Gary, The area they want to move it to is somewhat run down. Hopefully the Casino will bring build outs with it. The current location has a lot going for it already and doesn't need the Casino to prosper.

Anyone thinking that casinos lower taxes will be very saddened by the increase in crime causing the need for more police, along with more state services for more addicted gamblers. Drugs will increase along with robbery, prostitution, alcholics, suicides, etc. It has been proven in all the other states that this will be the future. The only group that makes out is the casino and crime. Taxpayers shoulder the burden of it.

Sounds like what the advocates of Prohibition said.

    Setterman...

I'll differ with your reasoning (actually theirs) about the "Urban Renewal" with casinos moving in.

Just take a ride and a look at Atlantic City. Except for the casinos, the rest of it is still a crap hole, even after 20'sum years.

I was hoping it was a state wide referendum recognizing Sparta as the better place for the Grand American!

They were sold in my state as a fix for our education funding needs. Nothing has changed, we still have the same funding problems. One thing has changed, a lot more addicted gamblers and a lot of marriages broken up. Personally I could care less if someone wants to take their money and give it to the casinos any more than the fools who want to smoke. It is the vice I detest the most. It is the one vice where the fool playing it gets nothing in return. Drug addicts get drugs, people who go to prostitutes get sex, people who buy booze or cigarettes get a product. Gamblers don't get anything but eventually lose their money to the casinos that are making huge profits from fools. Every casino in our area is constantly expanding. I keep thinking they will run out of fools but it never seems to happen. I think it is America's most popular hobby, giving their money to casinos.
