Obama: Porn OK but not Guns.

This is a link to the NRA "Outrage of the Week" feature.

    http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Federal/Read.aspx?id=3648

Obama once tried to get a federal law enacted to prohibit gun shows within a five mile radius of a school or park.

He later FAILED TO SUPPORT a bill which would have prohibited "sex related shops" within five mile radius of a school or house of worship.

It's generally not a good idea to call people names that you can't even spell correctly. It makes you look like a hypocrite.

Little Dog, I'm SOOOOOOOOO sorry but my spelling of HYPOCRIT IS an acceptable form of the spelling, according to dictionary.com.

One of the meanings of the word, which in this case, applies to Obama is INSINCERE. Show me in any dictionary where it says hyp-o-crite - noun, a person who can not spell!

So, I take it that you approve of "Sex shops" within a five mile radius of schools and churches.

OK, you have me but I don't see the relation
hyp·o·crite /?h?p?kr?t/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[hip-uh-krit] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
    –noun
    1. a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, esp. a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.
    2. a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, esp. one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.

exactly how is a stance on guns and sex the same thing? A weapon is a weapon and has nothing to do with sex. While you may disagree with both stances they are pretty mutually exclusive, and can't be compared to each other.

Porn keeps people off the streets more so than do guns!!! Porn is safer, I could get in an accident driving to the trap range.

Here we have a Lovers Lane within 1 mile of 3 schools. A store with exotic clothes and porn tapes and it's no big deal.
Not everyone lives in the sticks and as long as the local government ok's it, there is not alot we can do. I'm not defending that clown Obama at all, but you have to realistic. The local and state government are the people to complain to. The fact that we have that store here does not send panic to anyone who lives here. To be clear, I live on the Redford / Detroit border and the store is in the city of Detroit. Now if you have followed any national news, Detroits own mayor is nailed for a sex scandel and it's getting worst. A witness has come forward and confirmed the party with hookers/strippers at the mayors mansion. Then one of the girls gets shot up out of the blue and no one is saying anything about who may have done it. This was back in 2003 and it's still ongoing. Go figure... they are all crooks.

    drh08,

My OP reported that Obama had been in favor of "no gun shows within a five mile radius of schools or parks" and NOT in favor of "no porn stores within a five mile radius of schools and churches".

The assumption here is that since Little Dog is a trapshooter he probably is not averse to gun shows held anywhere. So since he's upset w/my post, it must have been the part about NOT backing "no sex related shops" within a five mile radius of schools and churches. So I was wondering if he WAS in favor of "sex related shops" within five miles of schools or churches.

If he was upset with my spelling, hey the 1st Amendment doesn't say anything about having to spell something correctly before you call him that. Little Dog isn't exactly a phenomenal speller either. I found a couple of 'clunkers' in some of his previous posts.

deckart, I live where it is sunny and balmy right now in So-Cal. Went kayaking two days ago, kicking around the yard today, going on an excursion via boat tomorrow, and if I can afford it, shoot some trap on Saturday. Yeah, I'm retired and worried about fuel and shooting costs!! Snivel; so many toys, not enough time or money.

Eskimo rolls? Generally unintentional!! Spanish is easy to learn around here; that's how much it is spoken. Smog gives targets good backgrounds on some days. A round of trap is pricey in most instances. Oh well...

Speaking of hypocrites, d.eckart/sammie said; "PS Just remembered hypocrite. Like bush telling the country in 2000 that he did not believe in nation-building. Then he invades a sovereign country. Go figure."

Try telling the whole story for once d.eckart, instead of your incorrect version of it. Ask your people why they voted to invade! Ask them!! Mash on the link d.eckart/sammie.

"get 4,000 young men and women killed!!!"

    Ask your people why!!

Paladin you really need to study the history of the war with no bias. I distinctly remember the yellow cake uranium from Niger thing. Not to mention the aluminum tubes that were cited as "could be used in a reactor"

Bush knew when he gave his speech to the United Nations, based on some very secret intelligence that was not shared, that both the yellow cake and the tubes were no threat yet he blithely cited them as one of the reasons to invade Iraq.

That is history. That is a fact. Do a little research and see for yourself.

He lied just like Clinton lied about Monica. Somehow the consequences of Mr Bush's lies had a more dramatic impact on our lives then Clinton's infidelity.

I did the research. I remember the speech. When you people say he outright lied about it or made the story up for the state of the union address, you are wrong, dead wrong. His last name isn't clinton. That being said, he should not have put it in the speech since there was doubt cast shortly before. He should have given further review to a lot of the intelligence of the day,,just as the liberals should have.

deckart/sammie said; "My people didn't want to invade a sovereign country."

Your people did, you just aren't being honest. Period.

    Mash on the link!

deckart/sammie said; "The british intellegence sent bush a letter almost a week before the speech and he STILL put it in the speech"

What did the "letter" say deckart/sammie??? Let's see it. I'd like to see you eat your words since your version of the chain of events is wrong.
