    From a recent interview:

"LYNN SWEET, WASHINGTON BUREAU CHIEF, "THE CHICAGO SUN-TIMES": Tony Rezko figures in the criminal investigation of Blagojevich, a major fundraiser for the governor.

VAN SUSTEREN: Does he have anything relationship at all, Tony Rezko, with Rahm Emanuel, the new chief of staff and the former congressman?

SWEET: No. But, interestingly, Rahm does have the seat that Rod Blagojevich had that he gave up to run for congress."

obama better start looking for a new chief of staff.

emanuel better start looking both ways for the proverbial bus that they are goiong to throw him under.

This is NOT going to go away. Only get better.

It doesn't take much detective work to connect certain dots.

There is a group of Chicago Democrat insiders that play a form of musical chairs. At different points in time they have served as staffers/advisors/fund raisers etc. for Richie Daley, Blagojevich, and Obambi among others. They're sort of like roadies that move from one rock band to another depending on who's out touring.

Because of their extensive backgrounds in machine politics and their incestuous relationships with multiple major players, I will be very surprised if several of them haven't been recorded on the FBI wire taps or otherwise implicated during the Fed's ongoing investigation. However, it remains to be seen who is guilty of what.

It is possible to be part of Chicago machine politics without getting indicted or convicted of anything. I don't think it’s possible to grow up in that machine without being exposed to a lot of sleaze and without some degree of personal participation.

The current situation for Blagojevich, Rahm Emanuel, Jesse Jr., Obambi, and other players is much like Nixon's Watergate.

    1. Who did what?
    2. Who knew what and when did they know it?

Obambi may have developed a recent stutter but until allegations of wrong doing are backed up with credible evidence, I make no assumptions he is guilty of anything other than being a liberal.

I wonder how long it will take before the fallen Governor Blagojevich will spill the beans that Obama new very well what was going on.

If that happens it should get real interesting.

Crazy has been an well orchestrated talking point for the past couple of days.

If the media and libs can convince the public Felonious Rod is actually Crazy Rod, why would a jury give credence to anything he says or the charges against anyone he implicates?

Blagojevich didn't appoint the Federal Judges. He will find Federal Court a little different that the local courts in Chicago.

It will be interesting to see if Hussein replaces the federal prosecutor that's prosecuting the case.

You seem to be stuck on "give it a rest". I'm not sure that's appropriate.

During the entire campaign, the media gave Obambi a free pass on tough but legitimate questions. The press didn't ask and he didn't tell. As a result, a host of troubling issues were ignored. The Blagojevich debacle has at long last forced the media to start asking some of those questions.

The press still isn't doing a good job. Since Blagojevich was arrested and speculation about potential Obambi connections began, the norm has been a stream of misinformation followed by reasonably accurate details 24 to 48 hours later.

For example, less than an hour ago, a lib talking head finally admitted that it would be perfectly reasonable for the Obambi camp to have discussed possible replacements for the empty Illinois senate seat. The yammering class suggested Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel (who has been conspicuously absent lately) might have spoken with Blagojevich about that very subject. The eventual conclusion was that any such conversation would be on an FBI tape. Therefore, Rahm and the Obambi camp would have no reason to lie and the tapes would be proof positive Obambi and his staff was clean.

If things progress as normal, it will take a day or so for someone to point out the FBI bugs were limited to Blagojevich's home phone and one room of his campaign headquarters. Who knows how many conversations (completely innocent or crooked as heck) took place on untapped phones or in non-bugged offices? Assuming Rahm or another Obambi staffer was recorded by a bug, Fitzgerald still wouldn't release the content unless necessary to do so.

For all the conspiratorial speculation suggested by the tinfoil hat wearing contingent of our ts.com community, no evidence of wrong doing has been offered. Obambi may be clean a whistle. This may all be a tempest in a teapot.

Whatever else is true, this is true: Obambi's promised transparent transition hasn't been so transparent. He has been less than forthcoming and hasn't handled this situation well.

Obambi may be clean as a whistle but he grew up in the cess pool of Chicago machine politics. We are entitled to know if Obambi or his staff is dirty.
Like Nixon's Watergate, what did they know and when did they know it are questions that must be answered.

With respect, I don't think we should "give it a rest" until we have those answers.

    Literal,

I'm sorry that you thought that my response to you: "Why are you repeating yourself, Literalist? Are you bored?" was an insult. Perhaps you are overly sensitive if you can find an insult out of that.

You say you come to ts.com to escape politics. If that's so, then why do you open up multiple clearly labeled political threads just to make an identical snide comment on several of them? Perhaps you are fishing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you without a clue. Here's what is up in Illinois politics. They are all crooks at the state level. Didn't any of you notice at the Democratic National Convention that while being held in Chicago and the candidate was a Chicagoan the boy wonder of a governor never even got to the podium while the televisions were on? Get a clue guys they have been trying to get the dirt on him for a long time and he finally helped to tie his own noose while being wiretapped. Such is politics in my state:( I hope he gets what is coming to him. I think I remember who ran against him but I doubt if there would have been any difference in the honesty of the governor. We have had four of our governors go to jail and one got off and his handlers took the fall for him and they went to jail. Then the University of Illinois makes a job for him so he can teach government to the young republicans who take his course. How nice?We as taxpayers are tired of the shenanigans of those in high office in our state and I would hope the penalty he pays for his rudeness is severe. Dan
