I have a finished basement and want to keep my guns in the fire safe down there. What is an acceptable humidity range?

    Thanks!

Springfield Armory suggests 40%-50% RH but less than 60% and 70ºF but also notes that consistency and stability of both temp and humidity are more important than exact numbers.

I keep my shop at 50% (+-). I run a dehumidifier and AC in the Summer (I am in Indiana) and add moisture in the Winter months. No rust ever on machine tools.
