I've noticed that all the cheap target hulls look identical except for color and headstamp. Does anyone know if they are manufactured on the same machinery?

If you are talking about European hulls, they basically are Cheddite and UEE, which for the most part, are identical.

I've noticed the Winchester, Remington and Federal also. Maybe they are manufactured in Europe too?

The REM-UMC hull is a French Cheddite. AFAIK, the other Remmy hulls, Winnie, and Fed/Estate hulls are domestic.

Hulls are made by forcing melted plastic through a die on an extruder, like sausage. The hull thickness is controlled by the width of the ring opening on the die. Stirations on the hull can be achieved by bumps on the outside ring. This commonality of manufacturing process will make most hulls look alike.

Premium hulls seem to be a little thicker and probably have a little more flexible plastic in their formula so that they can be reloaded multiple times.
