From THE OUTDOOR WIRE, Friday Sept 7:

Reports Confirm HSUS Payments to California Assembly Members for Votes on SB1221
Late word from California that the Humane Society of the United States apparently wrote checks for $1,000 to California legislators voting "yes" on the banning of dogs for hunting bears and bobcats, and now, all mammals. Sources say a California newspaper is reporting that "The Humane Society sought a ban on a certain kind of hunting, and handed out $1,000 donations...". As always, we'll keep you posted.

Nothing like a little bribe to liberals.

Oregon banned hunting bears with dogs and bait. Big mistake.

There are areas in the rugged coast range that the black bear population has exploded in, unchecked by hunters using dogs or bait. The terrain is way to rugged to hunt bears without dogs or bait. The result is heavy damage to trees as bears strip the bark to survive owing to low food supplies. Trees wind up being girdled, which kills the trees.

This damage has reached the point where the Oregon Dept. of Fish & Wildlife is hiring professional trappers to trap the bears, using leg hold traps. In one area alone on the coast range ODFW contracted to eliminate 200 bears. Because dogs and bait cannot be used, leg hold traps are the only effective means of eliminating the bears.

    So tell me...

How are leg hold traps better than using dogs or bait?

Why are the taxpayers paying to eliminate bears, instead of hunters paying to do it themselves?

This is what happens when bunny huggers try to manage wildlife. They fail miserably, and starve or cause cruel deaths to the very animals they are trying to naively protect.

The HSUS is paying off politicians? Say it ain't so!

Go to Humanewatch.Org and read more. I'm following the Feld Entertainment lawsuit myself.

This just goes to show that if you have enough money you can buy ice water in Hell.

    Blade,

Let it go, buddy. Whatever the California legislature gets, they'll deserve. We've always guessed they were just a bunch of common prostitutes...and now they've proved it.
