You will find this amazing (or not). I am in charge of 10 people for a company of 5000 employees. All my folks know I shoot trap. Got a new shotgun for sporting clays (browning 525) and was discussing how nice it was. They wanted to see it. Naturally, I said "no way" cause bringing a shotgun...even in the parking lot...would be a BAD IDEA. But...I thought....I can send an e-mail with a picture. The e-mail said that this is my new clay pigeon shotgun. There were no hunting pictures, etc. One month later I get called in by the HR manager who informed me they were conducting a formal investigation for spreading fear and violence in the worksplace and could face a anything from a permanant note in my file to termination. I tell you....you can't be anything anymore except bland as oatmeal.

Two women I know are custodians at a local high school. Well one's Dad has pretty much tame raccoons around his place in the country. Well the ladies are discussing the crtitters and one of them makes the statement that it is terrible to have a 'coon' get into your house as all the damage they can cause. You guessed it, a person of color overhears just part of this conversaton in the lunch room and pitches a bitch to management. The two ladies are about to get fired for saying derogotory things about people of color. the whole thing got straightened out. This happened in surbaban school in Northwest Ohio not as you might thing in Kalifronia or other liberal places. The complainer did eventully get let go for other reasons, she truly was a troublemaker

If this goes south on you and they begin to talk of termination, you start talking about harassment, intimidation, hostile work environment, being persecuted for a hobby recognized by the Olympic committee, a right recognized under the Bill of Rights etc. It's part of YOUR culture and thus safe from attack IF you plant your feet squarely on the ground and refuse to back down.

The logic used on you is similar to this: Black males under 30 commit a disproportionate number of crimes. Sharing photos on company email of black males frightens you, thus you are being harassed. Of course this is BS but it is the same logic being applied to you based on the same type of fear; a phobia.

All of that being said, your weak point is that you used company email. They have you by the short hairs on that one. Your only hope there is that others share photos, recipes etc and that the company by default has an accepted daily use standard that (key word is accepted) run counter to the official written policy. Either way, be polite, but don't back down.

Been there, done that and won.

Consult a good attorney. Don't continue to use any company assets for personal use, especially email. If using personal email or instant messaging on a company computer....stop it right away. Everything can be monitored.

"Ghoulish Science Plus Obamacare Equals Health Hazard

    By Michelle Malkin
Gulp. It's the Obama administration's view of sound "science" that should send chills down patients' spines. Case in point: The president's prestigious science czar, John Holdren, refuses to answer questions about his radical published work on population control over the last 30 years.

Last week, I called the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy to press Holdren on his views about forced abortions and mass sterilizations; his purported disavowal of "Ecoscience," the 1977 book he co-authored with population control zealots Paul and Anne Ehrlich; and his continued embrace of forced-abortion advocate and eugenics guru Harrison Brown, whom he credits with inspiring him to become a scientist.

After investigative bloggers and this column reprinted extensive excerpts from "Ecoscience," which mused openly about putting sterilants in the water supply to make women infertile and engineering society by taking away babies from undesirables and subjecting them to government-mandated abortions, the White House issued a statement from Holdren last week denying he embraced those proposals. The Ehrlichs challenged critics to read their and Holdren's more recent research and works."
