I bought a used CG magnus unsingle and it has some scratches i want off it there just on the surface. My question is has anyone one polished scratches out of stocks with an oil finish and can these stocks be made really glossy by wax or anything. I have waxed my old ljutic with magulars but it wasnt an oil finish. Any suggestions will help. Thank You Kirk

The scratches will be there until you sand them out or re oil the stock. I use neutral Kiwi shoe polish on mine and it shines like there's no tomorrow. The more you put on it the more it shines.

What Bryce said. You can put a very high polish on the wood after you've
repaired the scratches by doing the following. A damp cloth (t-shirt or
cloth diaper) with a small amount of white hand grade automotive rubbing
compound and rub it in the stock until it's almost gone. Wipe the balance
off and apply Brownell's FFF rubbing compound in the same way. When the luster
is about where you want it, apply Brownell's FFFFF polishing compound the
same way. If there are any dull spots, go over them with the two Brownell's
products. Finish it off with Den-Bart Waxylene stock wax. I've done it this
way for years with always a good result. Hope this helps.

Now a true Piasano would only use extra virgin olive oil hand pressed from the old world to get that proper cheek to comb marriage. (. .)

I like the folks at Guerini, I'd call 'em and ask. The first time I called I got a call back from Wes Lang, the company president.
