I guess I can reveal my secret. My wife is a Stock Broker. Three years ago when we were in the position of $4.00/gal. gas, she gave me some advise that at the time sounded logical. If you can't fight them, join them. I took my 401K and rolled it into Exxon Mobil stock. At least I'm seeing a steady appreciation and dividends.

For each 5 mph of speed over 60 an equivilent of 30-40 cents is added to your per gal. cost. Think about it.

Not to mention the cost of trailering my hot rod. Brutal. May be hauling it 1300 miles soon. Can't wait to see the cost for THAT journey.

If gas goes to the estimated $6+ per gallon this summer, we will all be in a world of hurt.

And the Texans want 85mph speed limit. Seems to be the norm.....gas is going through the roof and the states are raising the speed limits. Give consumers, all the rope they want.

Do you live in Texas, or do you just want to complain?

The last thing I remember this is the Home of the Free and the Brave.

Where do you get the information that you post anyways?

    For instance:

"For each 5 mph of speed over 60 an equivilent of 30-40 cents is added to your per gal. cost. Think about it. "

Does that equation factor in the fuel cost currently, or is that a figure you just came up with for the benefit of us?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

Budster.....read it and weep.....why do you badger me when your too lazy to keep up with the world around you.

It's a shame that knowledge has to constantly be pumped into people.....learn something, be an asset for once.

BTW....I did not say what you claim I did anyways.......jerk

I can't believe you would want to profit from an evil Oil Company Revenues / Profits.

Does anyone here think that this Administration (and the people in it) isn't, in multiple ways, profiting from the chaos they are wreaking?

Vote for real change in 2012.

Washington State is passing an all time tax on electric cars because of the low revenue of money comming from gas.

The grocery store where we shop offers the following:

Spend $50 in qualifying purchases earn 5 Points = 5¢ off per gallon
Spend $100 in qualifying purchases earn 10 Points = 10¢ off per gallon
Spend $150 in qualifying purchases earn 15 Points = 15¢ off per gallon
For Every $50 you spend, in qualifying purchases, you will earn an additional 5 points

They also recognize prescriptions including groceries!!
Last time I cashed in was a $1.70 discount per gallon up to 25 gallons.

I wonder if most gas retailers even have a 20¢ margin to start with?

Everybody, especially the unwashed lib masses, think the oil companies make a lot of money per gallon of gas.

Actually, government makes the most. Nearly zero investment too.

Watch Peabody Coal stock, too. IPO @ &17. Went to the mid $70. then split. Did it again. Now in the mid 60's on the board. Up and down with political news about oil but.........I'm just saying. Day traders love it's bounce.
