I was looking thru some old notes(15 yrs old) and ran across this. I paid the “Country Gentleman” to set up my stock for me and this is how he told me to mount the gun. I tried it at the time and it felt awkward so I did not pursue this method. I am retrying this method with some good results.
    Any comments on this method?.........................

    4. ROLL SHOULDER BACK AND DOWN............
    5. TURN HEAD RIGHT THEN DOWN TO MEET STOCK................

I had the same question but if I do the first part of the mount correctly I do not have to move my head down after mounting the gun..............SMOKIT

I too had Todd show me his method. I think it will work for some but not everybody! (not me anyway) As with all fitters, trainers and the like do what works for you.

Shouldn't you take the gun out to dinner and maybe a movie, then have some foreplay before mounting it?

I finally found my copy of Rollin's original Stock Fitting Secrets. This talk about fitting has got me interested to read it again.

I did not see any motioning of the cross, kissing the fingers, and pointing to the sky, in any of those descriptions. What gives? Jon

I too, have read Rollins book on stock fitting, but I've never seen or heard of him making/building stocks. Does he? If he doesn't, where does he get his info? Butch from Pgh
