Is the stock truly an oil finished stock??

If so, then you can apply a proper oil finish to it and hand rub it out - do this a little and you get a mat finish - a bit more and you get semi gloss, a lot and you end up with a deep shine.

You need a REAL English stock oil to do this - not a 'prepared' finish that will dry.

If it is a 'factory' finish, then you probably can use a prepared finish on it, but double check...

Feel free to PM if you have questions on the finish.

I have tried them all, at least the commercial types ranging from boiled linseed to Linspeed, to Tru Oil, etc.

Tru Oil is all I use now.

Clenzoil or Bee's wax, both products protect and shine them up ... I used Bee's wax on an old laminate Model 12 stock and it was truly a work of art when it was finished ... I will see if I can find the pictures and post them ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
