If we want to balance the budget, cut all foreign aid and close all overseas military bases. That would get some attention.

What purpose does the UN fill?

All I see is a place where thug's can hide out and look civilized!

If we can't kick the UN out of this country, then at least take diplomatic immunity away for anyone who comes here from other country's!!

We approach the UN incorrectly. It would be foolish to leave the UN.

We have given too much in terms of resources. If other countries can not/will not support "peace keeping" and "relief" efforts we should not be taking up the slack.

Each country should pay a % of GNP to fund UN activities if they wish to be members. From this funding, those who provide "services" get paid. No free rides. Countries can "bid" on supplying peace keeping and humanitarian services if they believe in the "cause" or elect not to bid.

Our biggest problem is ourselves. We cannot keep out of other peoples business and use "freedom" as our justification. WTF were we doing in Lybia for example? Pissing away money we don't have to "protect" people that hate us until they need us.

The biggest reason we are stuck in these global messes is we have folks not unlike barker, hawk, rca that think this is all the fault of a couple of representatives who are sending our military around the globe blowing it up and killing their people, and our military machine is just the scapegoat.

Just shows their inability to comprehend reality, they haven't got a clue.

The chart below shows the military budget at 58% for 2009.
Now just how did that get that high? The military machine is assessing the threat, then the blow it into a major conflict so they can then go and bomb the country and kill alot of their people. The way this is done is through the good ol boy network by exercising their influence, throwing nice parties, bribery, promises of golden positions with these contractors.....The machine controls congress and anyone that thinks otherwise is brain dead.

Remember Petreaous and his "SURGE" that needed 50,000 more troups and a lot of cash? coming to ya?

What they did was to put 75,000 more Iraqi's on the payroll. It wasn't anymore of a military engagement than was already in place....

The clueless among us thought it was marvelous.......it was a big smoke and mirrors parade.

Westmoreland used to pull the same crap in Vietnam.....he got away with for a while then the smarter among us got it stopped.

Our military machine has no intention of working for a time when we live in peace.....they will never let it happen.

Some may say what does your rant about the Military Machine have to do with the UN......Their the ones that don't have a clue.

221, your pie chart is like Obama's promises or a fart in a closet.

Lots of odor, but no substance. If you want to make it right you should include the 43 per cent that is debt service.

43 percent. Interest on the debt. we do not get to spend it on necessities. We give it to the investors who loaned money to the government.

One of the biggest holders is the Fed. Ron Paul wants them audited. I agree. There is about 14 trillion there that no one can find.

They are treasonous criminals and with the help of George Soros will bring our once mighty nation to its knees. The middle class will cease to exist, there will only be the Elite, the working poor, and the voters of the parasite Entitlement Class.

    Ugh.
