Purchased a stock that was described as "new"

Received a stock full of dings and blemishes

So far the seller has not replied to make things right

How long should one wait before publishing the name for everyone else...

This was the sellers quote while describing the stock

"The stock is new, right off a new gun. It has right hand cast and is
    "plain Jane" Unfortunately, no pics."

The unwritten B.S. rule is: you have to allow a week for a "medical excuse."

Just wait. The apologists will be along to explain it, any minute now.

Musketman, what happend to honesty and integerty? Did buyer speak with seller before purchase. I always have telephone conservation to answer "what if" questions. If seller will not talk to me on phone or in person, no sale. No answer in a week, Zap seller. JMHO, Jake

I would say it's like company and fish, 3 days is plenty if he outright lied about the condition and won't reply. I would send a 24 hour notice to reply or it will be posted here. JMHO, Harv.

Was the stock described as new or was the gun described as unfired or what was the actual description and picture?

If it was for an 870 utility grade or an H & R the anticipation should be less than if it was for a brand new in the box Gold E

Why not post the actual comments?

    Regards from Iowa

If the representation was "as new" any noticable defects negate the statement.

Some sellers are slothful, some buyers are picky. A picture will tell the story.

"The stock is new, right off a new gun (that fell off my car roof as I drove away from the range). It has right hand cast and is "plain Jane" Unfortunately, no pics (because I have a cell phone from 1991 and I don't want to display the actual condition of the stock. I'd rather sell it and avoid the buyer afterwards)."

Musketman, most of us trust each other on this site, obviously some can't be trusted. If you are trustworthy, you usually trust others. From your remarks I would assume that you are not trustworthy. Bulge.

Something you apparently don't understand. Just your comments. Asking him for proof. You don't seem to realize he doesn't have to prove anything to you or anyone else on here. Bulge.

These threads usually end up badly for the person who started them -especially when the accused person decides to respond. Tread lightly.

I have always found in many cases the item looks better to the seller than it will to the buyer ... Thats usually the reason the seller asks prices according to what they see and not what the buyer will see when they get it ... Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder ... If it was misrepresented I agree with Harv, three days and the axe comes down unless there is a really good reason ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Print the damn name. Evidently the seller has no integerity or morals. To me its like a hand shake. It your word regardless of anything else.

However some buyers will not be satisfied with anything less than solid gold when they no they were purschasging lead.Bill
