Just got an email from a friend that forwards all kinds of stuff to me. Do any of you know how much of this information is true about her. You know its one thing to have an opposite or unfavorable opinion about a war or the reasons for being there. BUT IT IS ENTIRELY ANOTHER, TO SELL YOUR TROOPS OUT AND CAUSE THEM MORE PAIN, SUFFERING OR DEATH.

Here it is as it was sent to me.

    "IF YOU NEVER FORWARDED
ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE FORWARD THIS SO THAT EVERYONE WILL KNOW!!!!!!

    She really was a traitor

A TRAITOR IS ABOUT TO BE HONORED
    KEEP THIS MOVING ACROSS AMERICA

This is for all the kids born in the 70's who do
not remember, and didn't have to bear the
burden that our fathers, mothers and older
brothers and sisters had to bear.

Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the
    '100 Women of the Century.'

    BY BARBRA WALTERS

Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still
countless others have never known how Ms.
Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country,
but specific men who served and sacrificed
    during Vietnam

The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot

The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.

In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF
Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison
    the ' Hanoi Hilton.'

Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell,
cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ's, he was
ordered to describe for a visiting American
'Peace Activist' the 'lenient and humane
    treatment' he'd received.

He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was
    dragged away.
During the subsequent beating, he fell forward
on to the camp Commandant 's feet, which
    sent that officer berserk.

In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered from
double vision (which permanently ended his
flying career) from the Commandant's frenzied
    application of a wooden baton.

From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the
47FW/DO (F-4E's). He spent 6 years in the
' Hanoi Hilton',,, the first three of which his
family only knew he was 'missing in action'.
His wife lived on faith that he was still alive.
His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and
clothed routine in preparation for a
    'peace delegation' visit.

They, however, had time and devised a plan to
get word to the world that they were alive
and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny
piece of paper, with his Social Security Number
on it, in the palm of his hand.

When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a
cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each
man's hand and asking little encouraging
snippets like: 'Aren't you sorry you bombed
babies?' and 'Are you grateful for the humane
    treatment from your benevolent captors?'
Believing this HAD to be an act, they each
palmed her their sliver of paper.

She took them all without missing a beat. At the
end of the line and once the camera stopped
rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs,
she turned to the officer in charge and handed
him all the little pieces of paper.

Three men died from the subsequent beatings.
Colonel Carrigan was almost number four
but he survived, which is the only reason we
know of her actions that day.

I was a civilian economic development advisor
in Vietnam , and was captured by the North
Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in
1968, and held prisoner for over 5 years.

I spent 27 months in solitary confinement; one
year in a cage in Cambodia; and one year
in a 'black box' in Hanoi.

    My North Vietnamese captors deliberately
poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a
nurse in a leprosarium in Ban me Thuot, South
Vietnam , whom I buried in the jungle near the
    Cambodian border.

At one time, I weighed only about 90 lbs.
(My normal weight is 170 lbs.)

We were Jane Fonda's 'war criminals.'

When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi , I was asked by
the camp communist political officer if I would
be willing to meet with her.

I said yes, for I wanted to tell her about the real
treatment we POWs received... and how
different it was from the treatment purported by
the North Vietnamese, and parroted by her as
    'humane and lenient.'

Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky
floor on my knees, with my arms outstretched
with a large steel weights placed on my hands,
and beaten with a bamboo cane.

I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda
soon after I was released. I asked her
if she would be willing to debate me on TV.
    She never did answer me.

These first-hand experiences do not exemplify
someone who should be honored as part
of '100 Years of Great Women.'
Lest we forget...' 100 Years of Great Women'
should never include a traitor whose hands are
covered with the blood of so many patriots.

There are few things I have strong visceral
reactions to, but Hanoi Jane's participation in
blatant treason, is one of them.
Please take the time to forward to as many
    people as you possibly can.
It will eventually end up on her computer and
she needs to know that we will never forget.

I don't know about all being true, but the part of her turning over the little pieces of paper is true. That has been documented in many books about the Vietnam war. She is a pig, and should have been shot.

Regardless of the accuracy of the email, Jane Fonda and John Kerry are part of the most unpatriotic and anti-military scum ever to enjoy the freedoms bought by the blood of our long lineage of true American patriots who created and have maintained this Country.

Instead of being hanged as traitors they have been rewarded by their fellow left wing filth with honors and a nomination for President. Disgusting.

I don't care how she looks. Once a traitor always a traitor. I hate her guts and she should have been in front of a fireing squad. The people in the know will never forgive her.

I saw pictures of Hanoi Jane on a Viet Cong AA gun with smiling NVR troops. She and her hubby at the time were beyond sympathizers. The beginning of the politically correct left. In 1944 they would have been executed and should have been.

Mr. Newbius or what ever you call your self. I take exception to most of your comments and especially the one above. You my friend have a long way to go in understanding patriotism and and love of God and Country. Gordon Howell, Post-2.

Believing snopes is the equivalent of believing Ted Kennedy. Both are so liberal they can't see past their own lies.

Well Mr. Incognito, snopes or not if you would have been in the military at the time you'd know. I read what was on snopes at the link above and from what I remember it seems damn accurate on this matter. Anyone that thinks what Jane Fonda did was ok as far as I'm concerned could be right next to the b---h on the firing squad. I don't believe in killing but I'd volunteer to be on that squad and I have friends that would be right next to me.

Well it appears that a fair amount of what was told to have happened is true and some may be embellished. However, it certainly appears that she had no effect on stopping the war as her purported reason for being their, and it created no benefit or aid to the troops. What is really sad is that more of the American public didn't boycott her films from then on until now. You want to hurt someone in this day and age, turn them into a pauper after they have gotten use to living the high life.

    hoggy,

snopes says she didn't pass the notes, when it has been documented many times that she did. So you still want to defend snopes?

Gordon ... you sir must be a ... a ... well ... the dont ask and dont tell is a good policy I guess.

Just because I think she was hot in the movie Barberela you think I have some misunderstanding of patriotism and the love of God and Country. Its ok though, you may think whatever you desire to think. Those of us who have served did it so people like you can think and say whatever you to.

Chip - if her insides were on fire than surely we could surmise and assume she might be hot or at least a little warm? ;-)

She did Barberela 4 years before she went to Viet Nam so come on now ... those who remember Barberela would not in a million years thought of her the way ya think of her now when that movie first came out.

We all wanted to be that blind space dude with wings on our backs in that movie when it first came out.

We have a lot of Fonda clones now figthting for the rights of the Guantanamo prisoners.

They even got a couple of them out, and they went right back to killing Americans.

    Jane must be proud.

Newbius. I did serve my friend as did my father and grandfather. Starting with the Spanish American war. I don't need you to stand up for me. I'll stand up for myself. Gordon, Post-2

Incognito I must have misunderstood you. I personally do NOT know about the notes that were or were not passed. I hate Jane Fonda for what she did. A lot of our boys were killed because of her (some of which were my friends). It did NOT appear to me that snopes WAS defending her and it seemed to me you were implying that she was NOT a traitor or that you did not know about what she had done. Please accept my appology if you were attacking snopes because you felt they had let her off the hook. I wore a vest for years (I'm too fat now) that has a lot of patches sewn on it and one of them is Jim Schultz's Snoopy flipping Jane off with the caption "f___(edited for kids)you Jane Fonda. Never once in all the years I wore that did any one defend the B----!!! My other vest I wore has a huge american flag on it saying "Try Burning this one A---ole" Never once did any one ever try taking it off me. SO I'd have to say I was not defending snopes, I just didn't think snopes was purposely being dishonest in the article.
