How many zeros in a billion?

This is too true to be funny.

The next time you hear a politician use the
word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about
whether you want the 'politicians' spending
    YOUR tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend,
but one advertising agency did a good job of
putting that figure into some perspective in
    one of it's releases.

    A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

    B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

    C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were
    living in the Stone Age.

    D. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

    E. A billion dollars ago was only
    8 hours and 20 minutes,
    at the rate our government
    is spending it.
While this thought is still fresh in our brain...
let's take a look at New Orleans .
It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division.

    Louisiana Senator,
    Mary Landrieu (D)
    is presently asking Congress for
to rebuild New Orleans . Interesting number...
    what does it mean?

    A. Well... if you are one of the 484,674 residents of New Orleans
    (every man, woman, and child)
    you each get $516,528.

    B. Or... if you have one of the 188,251 homes in
New Orleans , your home gets $1,329,787.

    C. Or... if you are a family of four...
    your family gets $2,066,012.

I have read that the real national debt is 50 trillion dollars. Or 156,000 for every citizen. Or 375,000 for every worker. I just heard that social security just got a raise. Obama is promising free health care and free college. All this while giving a tax break to 95 percent of Americans. And American's are dumb enough to believe all this crap. Even McCain was sitting there promising to buy mortgages from greedy people who bought to much home. Bush just nationalized the banks with a Godfather deal, an offer they couldn't refuse. Our country is headed for a great depression. Our money will be worthless. And voters still have their hand out. I don't know why they only raised Social Security a little. Triple it. Like running up your credit cards when you are told you only have a month to live. Might as well enjoy the party while it last.

Both Party's should have their butt kicked. An electable independent or third party candidate is needed. Someone to threaten their control over politics. Only then would they wake up. Unfortunately, it will probably be too late. How about it Bob. Will you save our country?

Both parties have promised the American voter what they want. If you try to control spending the media attacks you as insensitive. They say you don't care about human suffering. Then you lose your next election. If Americans want anyone to blame for the current mess we are in look in the mirror. Politicians only gave us what we wanted.

I find it very interesting that before we were taxed on everything we as a nation had more money and lived better that we do today ... The United States Government as we know it is in a shambles and has to be held accountable for its actions by the people (voters) of the United States ... Vote McCain/Palin 2008 ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

A million seconds is 11 days.

A billion seconds is 31 years

A trillion seconds is 30,000 years.

Our national debt is currently at 9 TRILLION DOLLARS.

And the Democrats expect to pay that off in 4 years once Mr. Obama is President!
