and does it get any cheaper the more times you buy it?
if my club puts up curtains, i'm gonna shoot reclaimed. but i always think of reclaimed as being just like a once fired hull: once fired. at some point you just have to toss it. what about shot? i doubt that it ever wears out, but i'll bet that it starts to take on some pretty funky shapes. so, as it gets funkier, shouldn't it get cheaper? i'm not gonna pay 7 cents a hull for a five time reloaded sts, am i? and how do you separate the once fired shot at the once fired price from the funky shot at the funky shot price? by their serial numbers? thanks

You need to have them line up alphabetically.

When it starts to become too deformed. After my club was mined I wanted to tarp the fallzone, but was shot down and I was president at the time. Too many stuck in old ways to think and try something new.

roll it on a glass plate like the tower does.

    Round rolls, flat doesnt

Has to jump a gap to be saved; rest is melted or maybe even sold cheap?

Havent got enough hours in the day to do that

Ownership of the shot could be questioned, you are just renting it for a while.

It's deformed to start with the first time around, right? Maybe it's rounder the 2nd or 3rd time around. Then again, I wish I had reloading to do or something on tV tonight.

From results of chipped targets vs. smoke balls, I will not waste money on reclaimed shot. I bought 100 lb.s from a club which reclaimed often and held a lot of money shoots. The majority of ammo used was new 7 1/2s. I loaded 1 bag and shot some practice. I was chipping 20/21, at the time I had a 97+ avg. I bought a box of new shells and smoked 25, no more reclaimed shot.

John, your actual mileage may vary. In fact, I would say you are the exception rather than the rule. None of us at the club have seen any decrease in average and a few have made it all the way back to the 27 shooting reclaimed and home made shot so we are not just talking 16's here. If you are talking about 16 yard targets only, I would put a $100 bill on the table next to yours that says you couldn't tell the difference between reclaimed shot and factory shot if someone loaded your gun for you with your own reloads that had been loaded with clean reclaim and some with the same payload of factory. Me thinks the issue is between the ears and not in front of the barrel.

All my misses are due to what I did or did not do , not the shot I was using . As to the question asked , probably 10 times or even more for 16 yd targets . You will get an even mix with the shooters using new shells so the percentages will be low on the reclaimed . Square shot will still break targets !!!!

John, I'll bet there is someone out there who has a 19/20 average who shot some reclaimed shot for the 1st time and broke 25 the first time! Mike
