See how many will fit in a quart container (ziplock bag) and multiply by 140.

About 500 will fit into a 5-gallon pail and still leave room for the lid to snap on.

Unknown1 is on the money. A gallon zip lock plastic bag will hold 100 12 ga. hulls when it is packed pretty tight. Therefore your 35 gallon container should hold 3500, maybe plus 50 or so, when they are shook down pretty good.

500 will fit in one target box.

Not as many as you think. I'm guessing 1500 max. and it's likely less.

12 ga right around 3500. I store my hulls that way before starting to load them and the last time I got 1000 per trash bag it would hold 3 + bags but no matter how I shook it would not take all of the 4th bag.

I based my guess on the 25 gallon grease cans I had full of hulls. They just wouldn't hold near as many as I had hoped. I could be way off on my guess.

grntitan I always thought those grease cans were pounds of grease not gallons of grease.

Rocketdog, 3500 will fit. 100 hulls of 12ga per gallon. So say my 15, 20 and 30 gallon containers when filled to the top with the lid on.

More useless info: a 5000 piece TGT-12 wad box holds 2300 hulls and closes properly. You can fit 2500 in and still ship it, but it bulges badly and you have to use a lot of tape.

The plastic bag 500 TGT-12 wads come in holds 400 STS hulls when filled so that you cannot close the top.

    Chip,

Now that you say that I went and looked and sure enough it is a 120lb grease can and highly doubt it would hold anywhere near 25 gallons. Hell, I don't know where I got that from. It's likely closer to 15 gallons if that.
