There are actually 120 traps but some are used for practice. There are 27 banks of 4 traps used. They only used 24 of them this year except on Saturday and Sunday of preliminary week because of all the AIM shooters. Some days of preliminary week they used less banks.

Hmmmm.......I'm pretty sure they used 27 banks on the days I was there. Which was the last 4 days.

I shot on bank 25 on the weekend (aug 7) and was on 22 on Monday and they were not shooting the last couple of banks on that day. However, the bank assignments were all based on starting 27 squads (or 54 in doubles) having nothing to do with how many banks were being used.

    Gary is right.

On event 1 (?) I heard the call for the first 19 squads. Kind of disconcerting when you are suppose to be on bank 22.

Later events I think they called for the first 27 squads and 54 squads for doubles, regardless of the number of actual banks being used.

I guess I don't understand Gary's second sentence. If banks were assigned based on 27 starting squads, how does it work if less than 27 banks are in use. I don't follow that?

Squads 25-27, 52-54, etc, were missing from the scoreboards. When it said there were 587 squads, there were not really that many as some were empty.

Bank assignments were not coupled to the use of a bank. So if you were on squad 28, you were going to shoot on bank 1. Even though no-one shot on bank 26 or 27. It keeps things nice and simple. If you assigned banks based on how many traps were being used, squad 28 might be on bank 3 on one day and bank 1 on another day.

Squad 28 was always on bank 1 according to the bank assignment sheet from the CEB.

As you'all have indicated there are 27 program banks. The 2 traps far west were used for 28 and the wobble.

In addition, on the west end there are 4 banks, 1 make-up, 5 practise and one demo. On the East lne there are 4 practise plus 23 banks.

Wed of Prelim week we used 18 program banks, Thurs we used 20 banks, Fri - 24 banks plus 25, 26 & 27 were available for AIM practise. Sat & Sun we used 27 banks.

From Mon of Grand wk on we used 24 banks.

Squad numbers are always based on 27 banks for sgles & hdcp, 54 banks for doubles.

25 traps on the West end, 96 to the East.

Setter explained it correctly. Normally banks 25, 26, and 27 were not used (except the first Saturday and Sunday). On Saturday and Sunday the AIM kids used the first 10 banks so that left 17 banks for everyone else. They also did open up banks 1 through 3 on Sunday to get the doubles dones after the AIM program was over.
