At the end of the week, I'm having Cataract surgery?

I ask long I should wait before I go back to trap shooting. All I got was a blank look.

For those who have had this procedure done, how long did you wait?

Dr told me wait until he sees me 10 days after surgery. Didn't like it but what the heck..I can wait that long to make sure it's alright.

Same as above, my Dr. said "about" 2 weeks but he wanted to see me in 10 days just to be sure, checked me over & said I could shoot the next weekend. Everything worked well. Still don't have 20x20 vision but was told in advance that I would not, right eye never developed muscle strength when I was young & nothing could be done now--too late in the game for me--I'm 70. Definitely better glad I did it. --Ross Puls

I wouldn't ask that kind of question here. It's what ever your Dr. tells you.

Actually Brian, it is a reassurance question best asked here. Many of us have experienced cataract surgery and can offer our experiences.

Actually this has no relation to reassurance. No two people have the same ancillary health issues going in and cannot assume that their recovery time or complications will be remotely the same. Just reading the many different answers the poster has gotten, and will get, so far from 2 days to 2 weeks, should turn on a light in anyone's brain. Ummm, "Dang, maybe I should ask the surgeon this question". We are all individuals and cannot be painted with the same brush, especially if it has bristles missing.

Mine told me if I absolutely had to as quick as possible 5 days- day of counts as zero, but he prefered 7.

What my doctor told me was the healing process goes in thirds. Most people heal in the top third which can be one to two or three weeks. The middle third take longer and might be up to a couple of months. then there is the bottom third which is the group I fell into which took 6 months, then had and still have 20/20 vision. It all depends on the individual, good luck.
