How long does it usually take for a novice shooter to run their first 25 straight?

what's a novice? never shot a firearm before? never shot a particular game?

I'm a hunter since age 12. Started shooting trap at 18, shot my first 25 10 months later.

Lugerville--It varies from person to person. Some it happens quite quickly and others i know have shot a long time and still can't close the deal.

I would guess you will run your first 25 sometime in your first year of serious effort. The first 100 straight is a bit more elusive but man does it feel good!

Don't worry, this stuff isn't quite as addictive as hard narcotics.

Took me about a month with an 870 wingmaster. Then I bought and XT and it took me 4 rounds to break em all.

I do not remember my first 25 straight. I am more concerned about the next one.

I remember my first 25 straight (several months after starting to shoot trap on a regular basis) and my first 100 straight (after a couple of years at it.)

Wish I could say I remember my 2nd 100 straight, but alas, it hasn't happened yet.

First time ever shot trap, bought the gun ,ammo, and round, and ran `em.
Had a bunch of old timers come up to me and ask what gun was that.
Sold the gun a year later to get a 687,but of course -shoulda kept it.
It was a Gamba bros.SBT/A&F mod 4xx? made in the sixties.
Also had the 412 Valmet ST that I ran 50 with, and sold that too.
    Now I have Beretta,Merkel,Winchester 42,and get nothing but 24`s trap/skeet.
I was better off with the cheaper guns.

It will happen as soon as you decide it is time. Remember two things: refuse to miss and you only miss the ones you want to. Hint: this game takes place between your ears.
