how long does it take before you get the thought of missing the last bird for a 99 instead of 100 straight out of your mind?

Always carry extra shells in your vest and it becomes difficult to know just how many more you really have to shoot. Works for me!

Never missed the last one for a 99(knock on wood). Twice i have missed the first bird out and then ran the rest for 99's. It thought about it all 99 targets. I tried to clear my mind but..................

On the last 5 of a good run breathe deep and Focus on the real task which is to break the Next Target.

as long as you let it....you got to be your own best friend. there is nothing different or special about the next target unless you put special emphasis on it. don't be a counter, you are paying for it to be recorded.

Practice shooting that 100th bird every time you shoot the last bird on station, tell yourself this is for all the gold, then when the time comes you've already done it in your mind.

I have scored 99 in the GAH twice; I still can not get the image of those two missed targets flyng off out of my mind. AJ

Frank Wood once told me. "Mark it off your list. Eventually you'll miss every one!"

I had to mark it off several times more.

Eventually you can tell yourself I've broken this one before and just do it...
