My step father wants to give me a Mauser rifle and an old muzzleloader. The only catch is he lives in Germany.

My mother will be visiting early 2008, can she bring it?

    Is this possible? Contact suggestions?

    Thanks, Chris

It can be done, but it is not as simple as having your Mother return to the US with it. Here is a link to Joe Potosky's LostTarget web site and the section on what you are asking about. Good Luck. Bill Malcolm

With a lot of luck. Have someone bring them in personal baggage.

Do not listen to the advice about trying to bring a firearm in as baggage unless you have approval- its a good way to end up in Jail or suffer huge consequences.

GN7777777: I'm talking about checked baggage, "BOZO." I've done it many times.

shot410 I am talking about checked or carry on you calliing me a "Bozo" does nothing

-- if you do it and dont declare it-with the right paperwork- you are breaking the law and there could be very significant consequences

I stand by what I said- anyone that follows your advice without the correct approval and paperwork is a fool

Also and I didnt mention this- some guns may not be imported at all and it doesnt go by category it goes by specific firearm
