I didn't make it to the state shoot, but am interested in the concept of a smaller ga event. How'd it go? Top scores were?

Top Score was 45/50. George Murphy from Jacksonville, IL shooting a model 12 field grade 20. I am not sure how many entered.

Nice that a true "20" shooter won the event.

It was well received by those who shot it. Everyone who shot it walked off the field with a smile on their face. It was tough because it was a hot and humid day and after 300 registered, some people didn't shoot because they were gassed. The donor has offered to sponsor another event at next years shoot, but we don't know what that will be at this time.

I'd be all for it if there were a 20 gauge event in Indiana. I use a field grade Model 12, as well. It's been in my family since the 1950s, shortly after it was made. I started shooting trap last summer and this is the gun I used. Best I ever got out of 25 was 22. The "perfect repeater" still functions like a dream.

One of the shooters was using a Model 12 that his parents gave him when he was 8 years old. It looked great. He said they bought it at Sears & Roebuck.
