I'm no Jayhawk fan (I graduated from Nebraska, and the daughter goes to Kansas State, but the wife did a couple of semesters in Lawrence) but I am thoroughly impressed by their level of play tonight.

I figured they'd be content to just have made it to a BCS bowl, but its clear they came to play.

Not bad for a basketball school.

Last night was a great tragedy for humanity. It would be totally inappropriate to discuss, or even remember, the peculiar circumstances suffered by VA Tech. When Western Civilization endures such a set back, it behooves us to support the defeated heroes.

You right Pat, As usual. VT is has a very good football team. Too bad they got beat up by those heathens from KU.

Now with all that said, GO JAYHAWKS.

In retrospect, the teams were quite evenly matched and it could have gone either way, but I think the Jayhawks simply made fewer mistakes.

Had VaTech stuck with the running game using Ore, the outcome might well have been different. I think that was a huge tactical error by Beamer.

That was a very good game. I didn't think Mangino was accomplishing anything in Kansas. I was wrong. That fat guy can coach.

And a Seahawk too. Pat, trust me I rooted for you and your team but the idea of a deer caught in the headlights of oncoming traffic crossed my mind a few times. My sympathy....breakemall....Bob Dodd

Well, thanks for Dean Edwards Smith, the best coach of any sport in history. And thanks for letting Roy Williams cut his teeth while getting the experience and developing the skills to coach the TARHEELS.
