If you had a choice between:

    A) A democrat who is A-rated by NRA, and a political newcomer (ie, no "clout" yet and basically another Blue-doggie thorn in Obama's britches

    - or -

    B) A fat-cat Republican, who voted for both the Assault Weapons ban, and the Brady Bill, and who has spent his time since he was last in Congress lobbying for various interests, some foreign...

    ...who would you vote for?

Ellsworth is "Pelosi's boy toy". That man doesn't even go to the bathroom without asking permission from the $2 whore from the gay Bay.

Not that I disagree...but you know that Coats' goal in life will be to draw power to himself by being the crossover Republican that everybody comes to, to get the key vote to pass whatever the assholes "really, really want" at the time.

If they're both aholes, I'd vote for the a-hole with the good NRA rating.

I didn't vote for Coats in the primary, I went with Hosteller. Mr. Coats wasn't my first choice but I won't have any problem supporting him. To me it was akin to the choice between Koufax or Drysdale vs the Yankees for the 7th game of the World Series. I would prefer to have Sandy take the mound but I'm going to root or pull for Drysdale just as much or more to beat the damn foul mouth east coast Yankees!

Drysdale ended up being a hall of famer too. I think if you go back and look at Coats record when he was in the House and the Senate he had one of the highest ratings given by CPAC. I personally hated to see Coats retire from the Senate when he did. At that time he was probably the most conservative member of the entire US Senate.

Now if you were to ask me about Lugar. Well I would vote Nancy Ellsworth to the Senate over the worthless Dick .....

Brad Pelosi is only conservative as long as his vote isn't needed. If his vote is needed like in healthcare Ms. Pelosi will remind him whom he sleeps with and how he shall vote. You cannot even ask Nancy Ellsworth as to which way Pelosi/Frank/Waxman have decided the pseudo congressperson from southern Indiana is to vote on a certain subject because said congressperson does not have town hall meetings or take calls from "Hoosiers". My God those hayseeds live west of the Hudson and east of the Sierra Nevada. They probably don't even have phone service anyway so why even try to take their calls?

This is almost exactly the scenario we had in Ohio several years ago. I know of many normally responsible 2nd Amendment supporters that ended up voting for the Democrats, who are otherwise in virtual lock-step with 0, pee-lousy, Reid & barney.

For the NRA's efforts, our tax money went to Acorn, snakes on Wall Street, inflation, new taxes, 0bamacare(less)which will be 18 new taxes at last count, and the privilege of paying for African air with the coming Cap & Trade Taxes. Immigration (illegal voter) reform, job loss, industry loss and so much more......That's what supporting the NRA's political expediency did for Ohio.

Voting for one of two problems still leaves you with a problem. The lesser of two evils is still evil. Guns don't mean much if you can't afford bullets. California and NY libbers have known this for years, that's why the assault on Ammo, FFL's and gun trade.

How many Trap shooters have we lost to higher prices, loss of jobs, the EPA's shutting down our ranges? That's what voting for the 2nd Amendment Democrats gets you - death by a thousand cuts! They don't need to take your guns when they can do everything else to make them useless to you.

After being a loyal NRA supporter for more than 40 years, personally, I believe that the NRA has lost the big picture. It may be that Wayne has been in power too long? Maybe we need term limits in the NRA?

I do know that there is a general American Malady prevalent in voters today -the abandonment of cognitive thought. We desperately need thinking that looks beyond the single, emotional-immediate and onto the total consequences of action.

    F. Scott Fitzgerald was fond of saying, "The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function." I say it's time that we begin to tell the NRA that we can see the duplicity in Democrat 2nd Amendment sudo-support.

Given the choice of two evils, I prefer to write-in John Adams. He was a true out-spoken America-first patriot, ardent supporter of the Constitution, and he'll do no harm in office today. Better not to be part of the problem. We don't have to juggle a hot potato, we can choose to put it down.

    IMHO,
    Kip

First let me apologize to buzz-gun, I didn’t mean to derail his thread. He asked a generic ballot question and I added specifics, defeating the spirit of the thread. My only defense is that I was drinking, it was Saturday night.

However I have learned if you word a question the right way you can get the answer you want. I think buzzy was on a fishing expedition, hoping to gil net a few of us into the pretty boy Democrat’s boat.

Buzz-gun wrote - “If you had a choice between: “ then he gave us 2 choices: A or B
Then he gave us a description of each generic candidate. However he did not disclose each candidate’s full resume. Therefore I would like to rewrite the choices as I see them.

    A) A democrat who is A-rated by NRA, (whose A rating was obtain through answering a questionnaire from the NRA, he has no record of voting on any gun legislation) so in actuality his A rating has never been tested. A democrat who waited until the very last moment to vote in favor of healthcare. (a week later he received a million dollar donation to his campaign from another pretty boy Evan Bayh) A democrat whom a large percentage of his campaign money for his first run at congress came from New York, San Francisco, and Santa Monica. An Indiana congressman who only decided he would be against “knee cap trade” after a far left, left coast congresswoman told him she didn’t have the votes to get it passed at THIS TIME . She gave him permission to go back to that “flyover” district he was from and say he was against it, much like she grants him permission to go to the bathroom.

    B) A Republican. A former Senator who has a proven track record with solid conservative credentials, Go back and look at his record.

    B

Remember, The word Democrat now means communist or at least socialist.

With the proper definition in mind, realize this person will lie about how they will vote to get into office. Remember when that smiling teleprompter puppet stood a big grin and said that he was a born again believer in Jesus Christ? Remember he said his long time pastor was Jeremiah Wright. When it turned out that mr Wright was a horrible man, the smiling idiot back peddled. Unfortunately, the good honest people who do not lie about things like that believed him and voted him in anyway. Now they understand he lied.
