Yesterday I got into a conversation with a friend, and he told me about the Holmes Supertrap gun. Seems as though this was an '80s gun that was maybe a variation of the Lujtic Space gun...

Does anyone own one of these? May have shot one? Or just seen one? I have no knowledge of this gun but understand that this fellow William Wendell Holmes was quite a fellow when it came to back yard guns. I'm just looking for comments from people who may have some kknowledge of them.

Thanks for any information, Dave in SC

Shooting Trap did a test of it. Had a pistol grip and some other odd stuff - looked a bit like a Kalashnikov as I remember. In those days they actually tested guns and found this one shot low, but Holmes said the customer wanted it that way. I thought is was a bit crude but pretty neat anyway. I've never seen one, though, and doubt I ever will.

Holmes published a book that you can find on Amazon.com for $30.00 new. Title is "Home Workshop Prototype Firearms" and covers his trap gun design plus several others.

"Home Prototype" was exactly what the Holmes Supertrap looked like. Ugly as sin. I have a 70s / 80s gun catalog with a pic in it...I'll post, if I can find it.

...and just for good measure...a pic of a later gun that shares the Supertrap name: this one is called the "Trident Supertrap" & looks a bit different - perhaps with some Ljutic Space Gun styling cues thrown in.

These are from 1981 and 1992 Gun Digests, respectively.

Sorry for the delay; Holiday festivities intruded upon my gun library literature search.
