So I came across a High Standard Flite King Trap gun for a couple hundred bucks - did some googling, but not much info on the trap guns...anyone have any knowledge/history on them? Just curious. :)

They are incredibly scarce especially in high condition, but don't bring a lot of money. The people who would pay a good price for one aren't searching the internet for them on a daily basis.

I think they sold a lot more of them through Sears as the Model 20. They also were carried by JC Penny.

Steve McQueen used a High Standard Flight King Riot in "The Getaway". Flight Kings were not very expensive guns, most hardware stores sold them. Never heard of a trap model.

I have one on gunbroker. It's a sport deluxe and the condition is fair. Priced according to condition plus it's a 30" full. Add a rib and have it reblued and it would be a good shooter. I was impressed with the workmanship when I disassembled it for cleaning.

I own a High Standard Supermatic Trap semi automatic. Vent rib, great trigger, full choke and nice walnut furniture. Many many similarities to the 1100 that came out a few years later. I have not shot it for a while but my grandaughter shoots it and shoots it well... Larry

Back about 1969 or '70 I won a High Standard Skeet in the pump configuration. It functioned flawlessly for years. Wish I hadn't sold it...like just about every other gun I have sold over the years! Martinpicker

That gunbroker gun is very interesting. I emailed the seller to ask about the receiver. I suspect it is not steel.
