When I see a handicap purse that pays $500 for first and $250 for runner-up and is to be "high gun", what happens for 2-99s and a 98 for the top three scores? Does the two 99s shootoff or split the two places?

99's split or may agree to shoot off. Post-2

We typically shoot off for trophies and split purses. The $100,000 award at the Grand is an exception. That money is treated like a trophy.

Two 99's get the $500 and the $250. They can either split or shootoff and it could be written as such in the program. The 98 gets nothing. This is assuming that all three played the option or that the monies discussed were furnished without necessary option entry.

In a high gun purse the two 99's would get $375 each and the 98 would not pay. In a purse, the two 99's would get $250 each and the 98 would get $250.
