HI GLOSS REBLUEING

    High gloss bluing is the result of the buffing prep work. Usually to 600 grit. The bluing has nothing to do with the gloss.

    glenrock is a great choice. about 20+ years ago there was a man in Elkhart Indiana who specialized in high polish blueing on Mod 12's and they were absolutely stunning

    Hey - I think there is a Winchester High Gloss that is a result of the bluing - they use it on their XTR's -- don't they call it some kind of chrome finish???? Or something like that?? the beav

    got the top latch back for my m-32 and it has a red look to it.what caused this?can it be re blued to get rid of the red tint?

    I agree that the degree of gloss of a hot salts bluing job is a result of the degree of polishing of the metal. The best high gloss bluing I have ever seen is done by Ernest Marlette who many of you know via his K-80 gunsmithing.
