Just an FYI on a shoot we will be having in Hermiston (Oregon) coming up next month - Non-Registered 50-target events September 7-8 and fun shoots Friday night the 6th. We will be throwing White Flyer Targets.

We have $2,000 in added money and lots of great whisky prizes for the adults PLUS another $700.00 in added money and great prizes for the youth shooters. We will have breakfast and lunch Sat and Sun as well as dinner on Saturday night for very reasonable prices. Calcutta on the Backer Saturday and the Handicap Sunday. We will provide free RV parking with 30 amp electric and water. A $1.00/per ticket raffle will be running all weekend with drawing during the Calcutta on Sunday.

Please help us spread the word and get this shoot advertised to all the shooters – feel free to forward this program to all you club members. If anyone would like to pre–squad for this shoot, please give them my email. Get your friends and your squad together and plan to come and enjoy a great weekend of shooting.

    Thank you,
    John Adams

No limit on the shells for the backer, but the targets will not be so wild that you need anything other than regular trap loads to hit them. The traps will be on wobble Friday night and will be hittable with regular loads. Saturday's backer is planned to be non-wobble, but we will add a couple turns to the spring - again nothing that would require shells larger than normal. If you want to shoot the big boomer, bring them along.

We will be having some fun shoots this fall and winter that will be set up for the big stuff as well. Watch for upcoming dates and times for other shoots.

What is the format for Saturday? Singles, doubles, handicap? Couple of us are thinking about driving down on Saturday. JW

Format as follows - all non-registered targets:

Friday night if enough interest we will have a 30 or 60-bird backer.

Saturday will be 50 handicap, 60-bird backer (with cal), followed by another 50 handicap.

Sunday will be 50 singles and 50 handicap with cal on the handicap.

Kitchen will be serving breakfast Sat/Sun, lunch Sat/Sun and dinner Sat night. Free RV parking with 30 amp service and water.

Trophies are of course Pendleton Whisky (or cash if you don't want the whisky) with an additional $2,000 in added, plus the youth shooters will shoot for their own trophies and their own $700 in added money.

Should be a fun shoot with some good rewards. If you need information or a program emailed, send me you email via PM and I will get it out to you ASAP.

Hope to see you all there!

My wife and I drove past the club today on our way back to Idaho from the Oregon coast. The club looked as good as I have seen it in years - mowed, cleaned up, and ready for the shoot. Good luck John, I hope you have a great turnout.

    Thanks Larry!

We are working on getting it put back into shooting shape. We have made good progress and we have some great members who are excited to help and build it back. We have a strong youth program that will get better. We have quite a few events on the planning table and we will certainly post them as we get them scheduled. Doing a few local company benefits and employee appreciation things as well. It is fun and will continue to grow.

Thanks again - and keep an eye on us in the future!

Lots of great prizes and money. What more could you want than Pendleton Whisky before Round-up and some cash ($2,000 added + additional $700 added for youth). Hight over-all youth shooter on Sunday will receive a very nice Gamo pellet rifle, runner up is a very nice Buck Knife, and Shamrock Box Holders for third...

Should be a great shoot and the weather forecast is looking good for the weekend. Shot some fun/games tonight and will be going 9:00 AM in the morning with the first handicap event - after some fresh home-made biscuits and gravy!!

    Don't miss this one!

Thanks John! Enjoy that Pendleton Whisky - it is a great brand.

Had a great shoot so far and $1,000 of added money was given away today to the open class shooters. Another $300 was given to youth shooters. Two half-gallons, eight fifths, and two pints of Pendleton Whisky was given away as well. Youth shooters also won their fair share of trophies, but were non-whisky.

Tomorrow there is 50-singles and 50-handicap with another $1,000 added on the line for open class and $400 for youth shooters. More whisky will be awarded and for the youth shooter the Gamo Pellet Rifle, buck hunting knife, and more shamrock box holders will be given away.

Weather forecast if great and scores have been high. 49/50 winning both caps today! This is not the old Hermiston - we have new PAT traps, voice calls, and white flyer targets. Getting better all the time and we will have more great shoots in the future. If you have the chance, get out and join us tomorrow!
