(This appears to be a ban on ammo being inported to Canada from the USA, so technically it's an export ban. And it appears some firearms may be banned from being sent to Canada as well. Looks like Obama is willing to help the Canadian anti-gunners.)
State Department Floating Ammo Import Ban

It looks like those who
said the Obama Administration would strike while the iron is hot may have
been correct, and the Administration may be doing it in a way that does not
require them to even get a vote in Congress. In this morning's edition of
the Shooting Wire, Jim Shepherd writes that Canadian officials have it on
"good authority"
our State Department may be on the verge of cutting off all imports of
certain calibers of ammunition.

Ammos listed for this rumored ban include the .50BMG, 7.62x39mm Soviet,
7.62x51mm NATO, .308 Winchester, 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington.
Additionally, we're hearing that an expansion of this proposed ban might be
broadened to include the 6.8mm SPC, 9mm Parabellum, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP-
among others.

In other words, State Department officials may be floating a trial balloon
to see if there are howls of protest, or whimpers of compliance. Canadian
elected officials who have directed this information to me say the move
seems to be motivated by "emboldened"
anti-gun officials who think they have a kindred spirit in President Obama.

Shepherd continues that there may also be a plan to ban exports on certain
firearms to Canada from the US, resulting in the State Department hammering
gun manufacturers, distributors and exporters in the United States while
simultaneously making firearms -and ammunition
- ownership and acquisition more difficult for Canadians.

Many in the pro-rights community have said since the election that Obama
could circumvent Congress by using regulations in his various cabinet
departments to attack gun owners. It appears that it may have already begun.
Now here comes another upward spike in ammo prices.

Maybe the US manufacturers should ban together and only sell their products to local LE and the military. Let Obama's FBI, CIA, ATF, and Secret Service resort to carrying sling-shots.

...uh...nipper,

You may want to read the original post again. It is an EXPORT ban of US made ammo and firearms to Canada. That means that American manufacturers will not be able to export into Canada which means less of their products being sold which means potentially more Americans out of work.

The anti's are chomping at the bit. I'll bet Chuck Schumer is about to wet his pants. My offer of a wager of a flat of STS shells still stands. "Sensible" gun legislation will be brought up for consideration this session of Congress. Where are all of the "progressive" posters that lurk around here? Still no takers. Typical liberals...bunch of sissies.

I hope most of you know that many people in the industry are pushing all this ban stuff. Look at what happen when Clit put the magizine and asshalt ban. ARs went to $1500 overnight and 30rd mags went to $100. I had 20 new M14 mags and sold 10 for $1100. I have enough reloading stuff to last 30yrs if i shot every day. If they get the powder ban through shooting is history. You dont need to worry about lead or bullets. rick

Liberals are not savy enough to know when things are going down the tube. By the time they figure it out, its too late.

My gun store paid five times as much in sales tax in December as it did in September. Right after the election gun people were the ones buying, now I've got people who've never owned a gun buying. Two weeks ago I had 73 and 75 year old sisters buy Mod. 60 357's. We can't keep .223 ammo in stock. Obama's stylimus plan is working for Black Swamp Guns, God Bless Him.

The one the thing you can always count on, is nipper and flincher can't read (or understand what they read) and they are totally delusional. I guess that is all to common with liberals/secular progressives
