Regardless of the denials, a universal background check system cannot possibly work without a universal gun registry.

ho hum. read the entire memo. the president has never proposed or supported the approaches that the nra is squaling about.

neither have i, for that matter.

it's just part of the rabid rights' attempt to paint anyone who is not 100% opposed to *any* regulation of firearm ownership as a commie pinko anti-gun america hater.

    it won't work.

lordy, lordy; mr. calvin, if you knew me, you would realize just how absurd your statement truly is.

i hate the irs. i love guns. i hate police disregard of the constitutional guarantees in the entire bill of rights. i have fought such activities for over 40 years as a criminal defense lawyer. i hate any governmental interference in my private life.

but i do believe that the distribution of firearms to people who have shown themselves to have serious mental problems should be very closely monitored. i believe that really detailed background checks should accompany any firearm sale. and i believe that punishments for criminals who used a firearm in their activities should be very, very, rigorous.

and that makes me a communist?

I saw that article on NewsMax, yesterday. They may deny that that is their intention, but they still have looked at those options. They are PO-ed that the meo got in the hands of the NRA. I wouldn't put anything past this regime.

my part in the criminal justice system had very little to do with making decisions on guilt or innocence.

i would go into much more detail on that issue, but you really don't give a damn about the justice system.

Just a few of the promises Barack has made:

    I will cut the deficit.

You can keep your private health insurance and doctor.

I will only tax the rich. (see january 2% S.S. increase)

The sequester was not my idea.

    I am a skeet shooter.

I will not take your guns.

Wayno, when we get arrested for exercising our 2nd amendment rights, I trust you will provide pro bono services for us.

rick, can you imagine how many bizarre "think tank" memos would be available for publication on the internet, from the doj's of every president in modern history?

when any position is explored by lower level staff members, every kind of possibility under the sun is discussed. is that so hard to accept?

Well, Rick has a good point, as usual. These lunatics look at everything. The information, statistics and all of the BS are fed up the chain, not down. It goes to the top. They have seen it. It is what makes them act like they do on a feeding frenzy. They are a bunch of lunatics. Our country is being spent into a dump, and all they worry about is guns, contraception, and other BS. All they care about is printing more money, being a presenter for the damn Oscars, and looking good with a bunch of kids, who are being exploited.

That is extremely hard to accept. Most of those lower level staff members should know what is and what isn't against the bill of rights (gun registration) and it shouldn't even be discussed.

BTW if those lower level staff members don't know what goes against the constitution and what doesn't. They shouldn't be lower level staff members. Maybe hot dog fenders would suit them better.

Tell us why these staff members don't right memos every time Obama issues an executive order many of those orders as far as I am concerned are unconstitutional.

The "lower staff members" don't do anything unless directed to do so by "upper staff members."

It is either 'on' or 'off'. Seeing so many expend so much to take such a risk, you would be in deep denial to say they are not dead serious.
