A great piece of Vandalia history. I remember him year after year replacing headspace rings. I think anyone who shot a Model 12 at Vandalia got one of his extra hard rings, as he called them.

He also worked on 21s. I guess doubling was a problem he specialized in.

    Nice guy as well. Gerald

I've got an 870 Trap that Herb Orre chocked for my father in the late 60's at the Grand. My father, B Quire was deadly with it on Annie's and long distance (55 to 80 yards) on Trap.

The 870 doesn't pattern any better than anything else until you start adding the yards. Herb knew something we didn't!

I won an 870 trap at a trap shoot about a month before the 74 Grand. He choked for me on Friday at the Grand and I shot a 99 in the vandalia Handicap the next day.

    I think it helped?!
