You could easily use at least 1 or 1 1/2 more grains of powder, especially with the WJ style wads and you may be using a wad that requires 1 1/8 oz of shot. If so, your loads will be very concave.....Bob Dodd

Bob has it right. You're using a 1-1/8 ounce wad with just an ounce of shot, so the wad column comes up short. If you want to use a Windjammer-style wad that will solve your problem, try the Claybuster CB4100 "Lightning" wad. It looks just like a regular Windjammer except the cushion section has an extra layer. It also works well with 1-1/8 ounce of shot with high-density/low volume powders like TiteGroup.

try 18.5 grns. american select, AA12 claybuster wad, 1 1/8 oz. AA hull
If your recipe was homemade not out of a book or powder companys reccomandations then it wont be right depending how bad the concave is you may have pressure problems too.

I'am loading the same load with 17 grains of 700x 1 oz in the downrange jxl-1 wad I had to take off the wad pressure and turn the starter crimp down a little and back of on the final crimp a little and let the crimp set the wad pressure and that fixed the problem you will have to play with final crimp until it gets to right hight after that it works fine.
