    Hi Folks,

I am having a problem with a second hand BT-100. The gun is in very good shape and the lever is well to the right.

The problem is that when I shoot at a target I can see the lever fly over to the right!

Do I need to replace a spring? Is some other form of work required? Is it a routine maintenance issue?

    Thanks for your help. Martinpicker(Jack)

It is usually just the spring on mine. They don't seem to last as long as they used to.

    PS. the top lever spring

I'd start in by replacing the top lever spring. I get mine from JPsprings that are on this site.

The top lever return spring is a small conical spring. It is easily replaced using a small needle nose plier. I get mine from Brownells.

Does your top lever to seem to move easily w/o much resistance?

Are you letting the lever cycly by itself w/o touch it?

Now take the barrell off and make sure there is no powder residue under the Bbl clean it with a Q-tip and oil also turn the Bbl ove and look at the bottom for any debris.

    Usually it is something simple.

Run a q-tip in the locking lug slot to remove any debris, and only use a lite coat of oill.

Thank you each and every one! Now, which gunsmith at the Missouri Fall Handicap would you recommend to put my BT-00 aright? Jack

Pylinski did mine as well. Price was very good and he took the gun after the miss & outs around 8:30pm and had it ready for me at 9:00am for my start time the following morning. You can't ask for better than that!!! Quick and reasonible. Spring is still tight now 4 years later. break em all Jeff

Thanks to all. Doug, you have a deal! Can you install a heavily weighted recoil reducer in the stock as well? See you there! Jack (Martinpicker)
