help with 28 ga sts

    Can someone please help me, Im reloadind with a 2000, P/W, and the hulls bell out on the top. P/W said Im using to much powder.
    universal powder 13.5 gr
    fed 209a
    3/4 oz 9 shot
    CB 1034-28
    rem sts hull

    I would like to use the componets I have, but I will use others.

    Try using the Remington PT-28 wad. HMB

    I'm not sure what you mean by bell out but I had trouble with the center of the crimp kind of bulging out but I was using a Mec Grabber and was advised to add some wad pressure and went to 30 lbs and fixed the problem. Jackie B.

    The remington PT28 wad works for me using the same recipie you described. I load on a 650 MEC. You will find the STS 28 gauge hulls have a short life. (unlike their 12 gauge counterparts)

    The most helpful advice I can offer here is that you do yourself a favor and switch to the WW HS hull and HS wads.

    I get a nice reload with the STS case and the following: Unique 13 grains, Winchester WAA-28 wad and a Remington primer. About 1200 fps........JIm
