The safety button on my 1100 Sporting 12 is locked and I don't have the key. [gun was bought used and seller does not have key either] Is there a work around? The key hole is "J" shaped. Also, can the safety be reversed? I'm a left handed shooter.

    thanks,
    Mark

Get a drill and drill it out.

For trap shooting ya don't need a safety.

    Bazooka Joe,

Is it possible to remove the safety completely?

IAB, like I said above, just drill it out, ya don't need one for what we do. Have mine out and never missed it. Just another thing to go wrong, ya know, one of your "friends" accidentaly puts the safety on, just to see your expression.

Rick was technically correct. The 1100 safety cannot be reversed. The aftermarket part shown gets the job done however.

No need to drill the safety out. Remove the small cross pin thats right near the safety, a spring will come out, then a detent, then you'll be able to push the safety right out. Drilling the safety out is akin to using a 20lb sledge to set carpet tacks....
