I am hoping he runs and that America can be what she truly is capable of being someday. Of course, with the comment about entitlements, he is going to pi$$ off some of the whiners. He is the most conservative of ANY available today. GO FRED!!!

He seriously is not full enough of himself or BS to win. Unfortunately it takes a lot of both to win an election in this country and to get a guy in office to bring back the good old USA would take a miracle. We have sold enough of this country off already,

I liked what he said on the future of oil..."we've got to find another way. We can't keep funding these countries that are causing us so much trouble". Sounds good to me!

Well, after watching Mr. Thompson on Fox News with Chris Wallace this morning I feel really good that we MAY have the right guy coming on the scene. He pretty much has it all, plus common sense.....not afraid to answer a question with "I don't know"....but will try to find out. WC

Here's his voting record on immigration while he was in Washington. It's not that great.

Immigration may not be that great....but when you look at the other areas, he's the best Republican's have to garner a win in '08.

GunDr, thanks for posting the link. To say his record on illegals is not that great is understatement. I know we don't have much to pick from, but after the gun rights issue, immigration is second on my priority list. You have to check their voting records, not just rely on the campaign trail BS.

I heard Fred on Hannity @ noon today.I was impressed that he made a stand on the questions he was asked. Now imigration didn't come up due to obvious reasons. that don't mean he wont come around. I liked what I heard,so far

Old Fred is the only politician I have heard in a long time, that when asked a "YES or NO" question, will give you a "Yes or No" answer. Name me another one who will do THAT !

It's just so interesting that the other day I was talking about Fred Thompson in regard to running for presdient. Now he has been on Fox News & Shaun Hannity talk show and saying he might throw his hat in the Republican ring if he doesn't like what his fellow republicans are talking about.
Fred was a great Tennessee Senator and he would make a great President too.
We don't need McCain-he changes his position like he changes his underwear.
We don't Juliani cause he is ANTI-GUN.
Mitt Ronmey isn't to bad but he doesn't have a chance (name recognition). He is pro-gun, but has been known to associate with Ted kennedy and that crowd.
Chuck Hagel wants to run but is a well known republicrat. We don't need a jerk like him.
So what other choices do we have guys????
Sure hope Fred Thompson decides to run!!! He has my vote also.

No money. No traction. Small appeal to only a minority segment.
