How heavy is heavy ? The Remington 90-T I bought was around 11 lb. My Bowen was around 8.6 lb. The 90-T was over 30 lb. by the time I got to trap four .
Consider buying a gun you like which fits you well and then put some tungsten rod in the stock. Tungsten is way more dense than lead, so you don't have to use a big drill bit and butcher your stock. Having the extra weight in the stock makes it less tiring on the line too (compared to swinging a heavy barrel, for example). If you don't like the resultant balance, you can likely find room in the forend to hide some tungsten also. That's the beauty of the stuff -- it's heavy, yet compact.

I'd have to throw my vote in for the Ljutic Mono Gun, great guns and they just keep on going and going. I would say the Energizer Bunny would shoot one if he were a trapshooter.
Chris,
Didn't see where anyone said you needed an expensive gun to shoot trap, Alf just said he thought the Alfermann was a better gun than the 90-T. Sure, it's more expensive, but I would agree with him they are better guns than the 90-T (which is also a very nice gun). No one's right or wrong, the guy was just asking for opinions, and that's what he's getting.
Chris The point is the ALfermann is a fine gun and dose not cost $10,000 dollars . DB BILL is saying a used one is around 5-6,000 dollars . No one ask for a cheap heavy trap gun just a heavy one ?? I have owend and shot a 90-T and also an ALfermann so I think I know the difference .
Chris My Rem 90-T is way down the road . It shot well but an old man need a 8 lb. gun . Also I bought and sold four or five ALfermann guns . Very nice guns just to heavy for me .
All guns mentioned are WFO. In my opinion, the nicest is the lighter weight vrsion of the Cole. However, Cole's are few and far between...only 120 or so ever made. Likely the best "bang for the buck" is a well worn Ljutic; usually cheap; send it to Ljutic for refurb and they come back like new and beautiful. Get a beat up one to start with and working on the wood won't be a big deal...or get the "core" and get a stock made..
I do have a soft spot for all American SBT guns; wish I had a Cole, Ljutic, Alfermann, Devault, Bowen, Seitz, Infinity, and whatever else there is..oh, 90T to have restored and put on the wall of the retirement cabin when I am too old to shoot!!!
J D.......Your question regarding heavier single trap guns. I can tell you that my KOLAR T/S;750 bore weighs in at 9lb& 3oz. Reading taken from a UPS shipping scale. Good luck in your search........
There is an Infinity for sale on the site, there is a Kolar TS for sale both guns are a steal at the asking price ---If you really want a quality gun at a good price now is the time or go back to day dreaming.
