SPARTA, IL (KFVS) - The heat is already making an impact on the first day of Sparta's Grand American Trapshooting Championship.

With more than 30,000 people expected in Sparta over the next 10 days, organizers aren't taking any chances.

They tell us they have cooling centers set up for folks as well as an abundance of water on hand so everyone can stay hydrated.

Wasn't too bad today. They rolled out the shade cards, which was a plus.

Wore one of those wet collar things today for caps; worked pretty well.

Wx is 60% scattered thunderstorms tomorrow for most of the day.

Suppose to be a high of 78 in Marengo on Wednesday. Monday 84, Tuesday 83, Wed 78, Thursday 80, Fri 83, Sat 82, Sun 82.

Hopefully Sparta will cool down too. Also hope it remains cool for the Cardinal Classic the following week.

Setterman--I hope yu have great weather for the Cardinal Classic. We had a hot Saturday and supposed to be warm again today but then a cool front is to move in and provide 80's for the rest of the Grand. At least thats what the weatherman is saying. You know how that goes. With lows in the 60's it will be a welcome relief from the scorching summer the Country has had. Shoot well and meet up with all your old friends and meet some new ones too.

According to the Weather Channel, Sparta will see some relief next week too.

    Good news.
