I shoot at several different clubs and have yet to have all 5 members of the squad shoot a 25. I've been in squads that came close but never did it. Tonight we had a squad with 25,25,25,24,23. I thought that was very good and started thinking how awsome it would've been if everyone shot a straight. So chime in and let's hear how often this amazing feat is accomplished.

Happened to me once years ago, a squad had one shooter drop out because his release trigger doesn't work, I was there at the right place at the right time, they called me in.

Then I realized this was a big dog squad, they are all trying to run 100s that morning for a shoot which I did not participate, and I was a rookie that only did two 25s before.

Well, the wind was blowing the right direction, all my shots managed to find their ways to the birds, I ran my third 25 with all the big dogs that morning. I didn't spoil their perfect squad.

It was a great feeling when I got pat on the shoulder by all the big dogs. Although some of them are no longer with us, but I still remember they said "You are a good shot, kid!"

I occasionally shoot in what I'd consider a perfect squad. We may not end up with a 125 X 125 though.

Never on a perfect squad, but did shoot on one when everyone broke the first fifty in doubles. I didn't realize how seldom that happens till much later. Steve j

Sept 22 I was on a squad that had 24,25,24,23,24

The first and last shooters on the squad lost the last bird,

    I was the last shooter.

I doubled my number of dropped 25th birds that day

Dropped one later, then put it behind me to run off a 50st.

    I have been on a couple 125 x 125 squads. I also was the guy to miss a target for 124 x 125.

Yes, a few times, where all five of us have run 25. But never have I been on a 500 squad--Minnesota shooters did it this year at the Grand. Now that would be something!

I was on a squad in Butte MT a few years ago that ran the last 50 (i.e. 250 x 250 on the last two traps). I was on post 5 and felt a lot of pressure on that last bird.

I have been on two 125X125 squads in my three years of shooting. I did not realize we were straight until the last few birds. The last one was at California's Redlands Shooting Park.

June 1993 at the Great Falls, Mt. Trap Club. I was shooting with the late Otto Stuber from Havre, Mt. and 3 guys from Medicine Hat, AB and we did broke a 125x125. It was a very cool moment and the start of a pretty good run for me that summer.

Over the years past was on a few straight squads at 16 yds. Was only on one
straight squad on handicap. 4 guys on 27 and one on 26 1/2.

I have been on many perfect squads but never on one where we broke all the targets. The first was at the 9th Annual, National Intercollegiate Trap and Skeet Championships, in Omaha. Some of us shot borrowed guns, that Remington loaned us, but we all paid our own way. I shot with my fellow Gunsmithing students, from the "Colorado School of Trades", and we won. The next year, we won again. Just because they are up to the 45th annual shoot doesn't mean I'm old.

Smoke em if you can and chip the rest.....Duane
