Happy Star Wars Day! As many of you already know, the 4th of May has been declared Star Wars Day.

Speak for yourself, Fool Barker. I for one enjoyed the first episode of star wars, and have a priest friend that is an original Trekkie. Not everyone shares your view point.

    Just saying.

I remember the day well.Wife and I were walking in a mall. One of the theaters had this movie Star Wars listed.Never heard of it,apparently no one else had either. We went in the after noon matinee that day to check it out to see if it would be a good one for our son to see.Theater was over half empty. After the movie I told the wife,we better get the boy down to it before people realized how good it was.Needless to say,we went down the next night and there they were,,lines clear out the door.Luckily we got in the first bunch. After that, you had better buy a ticket in advance to have any hope of getting in.First time I stumbled onto a movie that good, but so poorly attended the first showing. As you all know now,the reat as they say is History.

I've seen them all on DVD, but the second Star Wars was the last movie I ever saw in a theater

Guess I turned into an old fart at a young age

I have enjoyed all of them.

Good verces evil on a grand scale. Ole Lucas has milked this cow to death and I still by the milk, LOL.

And yes I remember the first one when it came out, do not remember the year but it was the late 70's. I am not going to say how many times over the years I have watched that episode, but, quite a few.

The last two were a bit over the edge at times, but, I still watched them.

    Rick Barker,

So you are placing yourself right in the middle of this large group of fools that I belong with?

It was the best! Glad you are on board.

They must be pretty good show(s) because even the new generation of kids likes them. My 12 year old watches the first movie every chance she gets and her friends all like it too.

I should add that May the Fourth has been declared Star Wars Day by just a small, unofficial group of us. I heard this joke on the radio years and years ago, and I haven't missed the play on words on any May 4th since then.

Rick, I well remember when Star Wars first came out. I was in high school. It was not playing in any local theaters, at least none within reasonable driving distance. My friends and I drove to a small rural town (Estacada) and watched it in their run down theater. We became instant fans.

The school AV technician somehow came up with Star Wars on one inch video tape (I don't recall if it was Type A or Type C, probably the former). We were able to watch the special effects in slow motion.

I've had Star Wars on VHS, Laserdisc, and now DVD. do not have a Blu-Ray yet. Laserdisc is superior to DVD. Don't know how it compares to Blu-Ray. Laserdisc came in two different formats, CAV (Constant Angular Velocity) and CLV (Constant Linera Velocity). Any lD player would play either format. The freeze frame on the CAV versions were perfect. So I picked up Star Wars in CAV format to watch the special effects. Still have them, but the player is obsolete and while still made, is very expensive. I only run it once in a blue moon.
