fishing and the oldest Jon will be shooting trap with my son and I tomorrow.
Jon likes fishing hunting shooting anything outdoor related. Wonder where he got
that from. Ha ha He is also spending the summer up here in God's Country-YOOPERLAND. Ken U

Done a lot of things in my 64 years that I am proud of. Even runing 100 straight at the Southern Zone 3 years ago. But...there is nothing more in this world that I am more proud of than being a Father to 2 adult, resposible and around good Children. Happy Father's day to all sitting in my motorhome at the cardinal center.

Speaking of grandkids- we is having problems -
Spud gun doesn't want to fire
    1 works on hair spray
2 propane -doesn't want to ignite
3' Take plug out, turn igniter it will ignite gas
    4. any Ideas when gas ignites a lazy flame

    Hoot619,

As a self proclaimed expert in the area of "starch accelerators" (aka, spud guns), I may have some insight into your problems.

Your description of "lazy flame" indicates to me a too rich fuel/air mixture.
Be sure to air out the combustion chamber between shots.

In my experience hair spray, the cheaper the better, (white rain), works the best with the most latitude of fuel/air ratio.

Propane is finicky, works great, but, a little too much,or too little, no ignition, or a poor poof.

Starter fluid, (aka either),also works very well, even less is needed than hair spray, and will be most impressive when fired after dark.

Just remember, spud guns are not toys. All rules that apply to safe use of firearms apply, muzzle direction, shot fall, etc..

For added fun make a sabbot of paper towels to launch golf balls, or eggs.

I made one with interchangable bbls..I am able to launch marshmellows, lemons, taters, and with the big bore rolls of toilet paper.

Careful of the landing area for the TP, sometimes it flames.

Have fun, always the high lite of family picnics.

Thanks Bill, for the propellant tips and also the safety reminder. I would like to
be around for my 70th and a lot more. Had a few reminders lately-getting to damn complacent. Never thought I would say that about a Finnish Genius. My grandson Jon lets me know what he thinks about my genius ability. Damn kids show no damn respect!! lol Ken U
