I have a question about the earned yardage rules for a PITA handicap event. Out here in the Northwest,(Washington), clubs are now starting to combine the handicaps to make a 200 bird race instead of the usual 100, much like the singles at many shoots.

Here is a copy of the rules page:

    EARNED YARDAGE
Yardage shall be automatically earned and shooter's cards
punched accordingly to the following schedule:
    100 Target Handicap Events
    High Scores and All Ties: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th
    25 to 49 shooters ½ 0 0 0
    50 to 99 shooters 1 ½ 0 0
    100 to 199 shooters 1 1 0 0
    200 to 349 shooters 1 1 ½ 0
    350 to 499 shooters 2 1 ½ 0
    500 plus shooters 2 1 1 ½
A score of 97 or better
earns a minimum of one (1) full yard
regardless of the number of shooters.

As you can see, there is no mention of any 200 bird events. The first 100 is only half of the event, and the high score is still unknown. Do you wait and only consider the total for the event (200 birds) or punch halfway thru the event?? Also, does the 97 come into play for the first 1/2 of the event??

Yardage would still be based on each 100 targets. Added money or trophies on the 200. Be my bet. Post-2
