I need to get into some very tight spots on my old military radio to test some tubes. The radio had a special mesh tube puller that acts like a Chinese finger puzzle. Only it's missing from the tool set inside the radio. I have not been able to locate anything like it, though maybe my google fu is weak.

The two pics below show what it is.

If anyone knows of a source for these, I'd appreciate a tip.

    Thanks.

You can find tongs type at http://www.amplifiedparts.com/products/S-T5092 (link above). Hot dog tongs with surgical tubing might work. You could make some sort of Chinese finger puzzle remover out of insulated wire--should be easier than with string, and the insulation would help with the grip.

They still make the same type of thing for pulling electrical wiring.

If you know an electrical contractor a visit might be worth the effort...
