I have a Browning Mod. 12 28ga grade 5. Really nice gun but it could be better with a little help from the right gunsmith to smooth out the action. I am in So. Calif. But could ship to the right guy. Does anyone have a recommendation for a model 12 expert?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tom Lieb

Years ago someone told me a good way to smooth out a Mod. 12 was to pack the receiver with White polishing compound and cycle the action as many times as you possibly could. (American guns)

After, disassemble, clean and lube as necessary.

I never tried it but it doesn't sound destructive but real messy.

    Anyone ever tried it???

Wouldn't that not only smooth it but also rub the blueing off of unintended places as well?

Try Duncan's Gun Works, 1619 Grand Ave, San Marcos, CA. (Lazlo loves to talk.)
