Looking for suggesstions on how to remove a few, very fine scratches in a gun stock. What products or methods would you suggest that I try?

    Thanks

I have had some luck on very fine scratches that are not through the finish by buffing with white toothpaste.

    1000 grit.

    Then 1200 grit.

    Then 2000 grit.

Then Turtle Wax scratch & swirl remover and an orbital polishing buffer.

If you're talking about a high gloss catalyzed finish...

If the finish is broken so the scratches appear to be white, there's little that can be done.

I have filled a few dings in Browning Citori/XT stocks with crystal clear epoxy and polished the repair so the scratch is less obvious but it's tedious and time consuming work.

if its like a dent take a wash cloth and rub it the water sometimes will make it swell back out.
