This is what we need to start making changes to our non sense gun laws here in NY. Why we elect politicians who don't represent us is beyond me.

    Voting 3rd party (Doug Hoffman).

    Republican Party take note...

I no longer consider voting 3rd party a wasted vote!

NY's republican party isn't much of a republican party. Half of them should be democrats.

If the polls are any indication, you will get a Democrat this time. of course your voice will be heard.

    IF any one is listening.

When push comes to shove so-called moderate Republicans always show their true liberal colors. Better to get rid of all of them. They say that a conservative can't win in the Northeast or the West Coast. That is where most of the "moderates" are. Better to let those states elect liberal Democrats and write them off than let them trash all Republicans with their liberalism. After Obama and his liberal Democrats have completely trashed this country maybe we can get some true conservatives in charge. But on the other hand, look at the big cities that elect liberal after liberals in spite of the rot in their cities. If we have to start every election writing off the Northeast and the West Coast can we ever win a national election. I think America is too far gone and deserves Obama and Pelosi. I am completely surprised just how fast Obama is destroying America. He is worse than I thought he was.

I heard on Fox News last night that his Republican opponent is receiving funds from George Soros along with that her platform is all liberal.

Republican Dede Scozzafava announced Saturday that she is suspending her campaign in the Nov. 3 House special election in New York, a dramatic development that increases the GOP's chances of winning the contentious and closely-watched race.

Ken Spain, a spokesman for the NRCC, said Scozzafava will now release her supporters to vote for Hoffman.

That endorsement will set in motion phone banks, voter e-mails and other NRCC ground operations for Hoffman, GOP sources told Fox News, adding that the NRCC may also provide money for TV and radio ads if any slots are available and the campaign needs them.

Scozzafava didn't endorse either of the remaining candidates, opting instead to allow her supporters make their own choice.

Please explain how the withdrawl of the Republican candidate in that race can lead to a win for the RNC? It's a win for the people that are fed up with the status quo. It allows the RNC to support Hoffman, just to keep the seat from going to the Dems. If Hoffman wins the race, it's a win for Hoffman and the people. It would be a loss for the Dems and a draw, at best, for the RNC.

    Joe,

"a dramatic development that increases the GOP's chances of winning the contentious and closely-watched race"

RNC = GOP in most parts. You actually said it was a win for the "GOP". Same difference, or did I miss something? I don't see how it can be a win for the GOP. They missed the boat from the beginning of the race. Somehow, the fact that the RNC is putting their support behind Hoffman after their candidate withdraws (suspends her campaign), doesn't sound like a real victory to me.

Now Scozzafava (Rep) has announced her support of the Democratic candidate Bill Owens. I say the folks in the North Country, New York are lucky she's out of the way. I thought her party loyalty would be iffy and I think this turn of events says just that. Both she and Hoffman have "A" ratings with the NRA but Hoffman is a member.

The old labels no longer apply. THis Republican (RINO) female was more progressive than all of the Blue Dog Democrats out there.

We have conservatives and liberals in both parties. If you need a score card, watch Fox News.

I saw an exit poll in New Jersey where the majority of voters thought the answer to our problems would be more government. It is a mindset not easily erased. I can't comprehend wanting more and more government. But at least half of all Americans want the government to take care of them. It is strong in the Northeast where this country and freedom began. Go figure. There are still over half of voters that think Obama is doing a good job. 10 percent unemployment, a debt growing faster than anyone is capable of comprehending, and not having a clue what to do in the war. The only possible answer to all of this is that half of Americans have to be completely stupid.
