I agreed to purchase a gun here on TS. Priority mailed a certified check on June 13, probably received on June 17. I have been told by the seller that the gun has been shipped but don't have a tracking number. I was promised a tracking number two days ago.

I am beginning to wonder if the seller is putting serious effort into getting me the gun. I'm trying to stay optimistic about the purchase but it's been a long time.

If you don't have the gun by now! Post the name and address of the seller, How was it shipped and by who.

That would be the best you could do.
Check with your bank to see if the funds have cleared if not STOP payment.

Was the seller a regular? If you don't know, PM me the User ID and I'll find out.

Where are you and the seller located? Any shipping service shouldn't take much longer than a week, unless it was shipped Standard Post. It takes 3-4 days from TX to NY.

At this point I don't have any reason to think the sale is not legit. I understand it takes time for checks to clear, process gun through an FFL and get it shipped.
I just think that maybe the seller is not putting enough effort in getting it done.

That's why I ask if you had checked with your bank to see if the certified

fund have cleared. They will know, then for $50 you can STOP payment.

There is no excuse for a member of this site to take this long to ship a PAYED FOR Gun.

FFL and checks clearing be damned.

Next time get a phone number also and talk to them, once you commit to buy. If anything else, it gives you peace of mind.

More than one transaction here in the past month or so have been scams.

You should have you gun by now. I'd contact the UP Postal Service if you sent the checi via mail. Hopefully you made phone contact with the seller.

You need to post the seller here at some point if you don't get/hear anything in the next week or so. That makes it a month...
