Boyd laminated stock, Original Mossberg trap barrel from 1986, Brass work by myself as I felt I needed a grip cap to set it off and I hated the Morgan aluminum adjustable pad attachment. Stock finished with 22 coats of Tung oil.
This is what happens when I get bored. I find that the thumbhole stock cuts the felt recoil down and it fits me well.

Your civic minded rehab of a guttersnipe is to be commended.

Looks good. How does it shoot?

Gun shoots great Patterned about 90/10 which is good for me. Except for the time I put into finishing the stock and making the brass parts the gun only stands me $200 as it sits after selling the original barrel and stock. Any way you look at it all it has to do is toss a 30" pattern of lead down range at 40 yards. anything after that is just an expression of the owner and his desires.
    Thanks for the complements

I did 100 targets on Sun and didn't feel a thing in my hand. I made the grip cap from a piece of 1/8 brass that I formed to the radius of the grip then inlaid the medallion. Medallion is an old trapshooting pin I found on Ebay

I have 3 of the Boyds thumbhole stocks. One on a Mossberg 500 and the other 2 on Rem.870's I think they are great. I agree with Dave about not noticing recoil as much.My first one was an 870 Express and it seems to have the same POI as my BT99 and other Trap guns in my collection. Some people don't like them,it might take a little to get familiar with it. Also they might not fit some because of their build. I don't like to take a higher quality gun out on rainy days so I have these to fall back on. Dave
